Demineralized water, also called distilled water, is a product which is often used in tattoo parlors. Tattoo artists use it, among others, to rinse needles or dilute the soap with which they wash tattoos. This water is soft and contains no salts or minerals.
Demineralized water is soft water because it has no salts or minerals in it. It also lacks sodium, chlorine, calcium and magnesium. It has an acidity of pH 5.5, so it easily removes all impurities. In addition, it is free of harmful chemical components, but has dissolved gases such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide and oxygen.
Tattoo artists most often use it for rinsing needles or diluting soap with which they wash their tattoos.
